CGC/Therapy Classes
canine good citizen prep
This is a one time class offered approximately two weeks before testing holding the CGC test. Puppy-Wuppy holds CGC testing twice a year, in the Spring and in the Fall.

AKC’s Canine Good Citizen Certification program builds skills that are important for good manners in public, such as polite leash walking, greeting other dogs, not jumping on people. During this class, we will prepare you for the different tests required and what is acceptable and what is not according to the AKC guidlines. Help with handling is provided, as well as pre-testing to see areas needing improvement prior to the test date.

therapy training
This class is designed to introduce dog and client to the world of therapy work. The semester will work on covering the requirements of passing the therapy dog test as well as the CGC/ Canine Good Citizen test. You and your dog will learn tricks suitable for visits. Your dog should have good basic skills, sit down, stay, and come. Your dog should be friendly around strangers and people and should not be noise or environmentally sensitive. Working with a calm demeanor is needed.

All classes meet once a week for 6 weeks. Class sessions are 1 hour.
